Mack | Mesa County

If your dream is to live in western Colorado, then the unincorporated community of Mack might be the ticket. Mack is a rural community only 10 miles from the Colorado/Utah border and has real estate for sale in all varieties, including single-family homes, townhouses, and vacant lots where you can develop and build your ideal home.

The Mack community begins west of Highway 139 and Highline Lake State Park. It extends north along the eastern edge of East Salt Creek and connects with Mitchell Road, which heads west to the state border. The Utah-Colorado border is Mack's western edge. It extends south past I-70 to the Colorado River. The river and parts of the interstate represent the southern boundary.

Many homes for sale in Mack are near the center of town, at Old U.S. Highway 6/Highway 50 (also called M 8/10 Road) and 10 Road. There are smaller single-family residences with two bedrooms and three bedrooms in the area, and there are a few mobile homes for sale. There are private homes for sale between the interstate and Old U.S. Highway 6/Highway 50. Some nicer homes are located further north, away from the highway.

Mack real estate offers tremendous value north of I-70 along 10 Road and 13 Road. In these areas are more prominent single-family homes with three bedrooms or more and additional land. Houses for sale aren't stacked on top of one another - this is a rural area, and there is plenty of space to breathe. Many homes lack visible neighbors. Houses are typically split-level or ranch style, single storied, and have upscale amenities like hardwood floors, gas or wood-burning fireplaces, stainless steel appliances, a deck or patio, and a two-car garage. Existing homes and remodels commonly come furnished.

Highline Lake State Park, north of Mack, offers opportunities for lakeside living. The lake has a dedicated swimming area, boat drop, and fishing spots. It is a big lake with lots of wilderness around it that presents countless places for a hike, bike ride, picnic, or kite flying.

Further west to the border is open farmland ideal for growing crops or raising livestock. The Western Slope has excellent weather that's not too harsh for animals, and a variety of crops flourish in the region. The Colorado River and interstate areas are mostly wilderness, but larger plots are for sale to the north.
